Steel electric fence posts are much sturdier than the fiberglass alternative. They are built to withstand decades of use, being removed and reinstalled dozens of times with no issues. How many seasons can a plastic or fiberglass post be expected to last through 110 degree summers or 30 below winters? On the other hand, once you have steel posts, they are practically a family heirloom!
